Totally normal
Edgar Allan Poe wrote a lot of psychotic minded stories that only a wrong person can write? Wrong!, just because you write stories about murder and scary things doesn't mean your crazy. It could mean a lot of things. It could just mean your a versatile writer and can write about various subjects. It could also mean that you just want to surprise people because you usually write about something else. You might just right that simply because that's the easiest for you to write. Edgar Allan Poe had a horrifying life at times and portrayed that through his writing. Totally normal

I totally agree with you because if you judge him by his writing it's basically like judging a book by its cover and by doing that you could be wrong.Poe was just emphasizing his feelings through his writing with just a bit more twisted ways and plus thats just his style of writing.
